Volvo: Trunk/Fuel Gauge/Brake Pedal Connection?, power trunk release, fuel gauge
QuestionOkay, so I'm starting to think that my Volvo doesn't actually have electrical issues and its just possessed! When I press the brake pedal, the fuel gauge cuts out and plummets to empty and occasionally the trunk lid opens. I am assuming that these are all wired in a cluster somewhere in the trunk and I may have connection issues. Any light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated!
AnswerMartyn,
You need someone to look at the car when these things are happening. Find a shop that knows the Volvo and see if they can help. I am hard pressed to answer any futher since I do not know what year and model car you have. I have not seen any issue as you have in another car as of yet and I have worked on Volvo's for 30 plus years.
I do not think there are any wiring truck to fuel gauge unless some wires are damaged and shorting out. Your car has a power trunk release? On the older cars there is a button in the glove box, maybe wires are shorting as the car leans forward in a stop. Is the trunk not locking and during a stop flip open?
