My key won't come out of the ignition and steering wheel doesn't lock -?

There might be a problem with the cable that goes between the shift lever and the ignition lock or the ignition lock assembly has failed. Take the car to a shop that works on Volvo's as they know the faults in these cars. After inspecting the car they can tell what has failed and sdvise on costs.
