Volvo: volvo timing marks, notches, crank

s 40 volvo 2.0ltr non turbo no vanos mechanical tensioner
1998/9 please can you help with a diagram or instructions on how to set the timing.there are no marks on the covers 2 marks on the crank pully (pistons half way down)there is a pickup on the exhaust cam at the opposite side to the cam belt  thanx rob

On the top cover after pulling off the front cover there are notches in the black cover and in the gears. On the crank there are marks on two of the high spots and in between that is TDC.  Set the cam gears up and then look down to identify the marks on the crank gear.
