QuestionMy 96 855R blows a whitish smoke as I decelerate approaching a stop, also will smoke while stopped but not consistently. It runs well, just started, any ideas?
Thanks,
Tim
AnswerTim,
White smoke usually means that you are burning some coolant in the combustion chambers. You need to test for a bad head gasket. There is a test to see if there is carbon monoxide getting into the coolant. Some use a fluid that will turn color and others use the HC CO tester to read CO/HC in parts per million (PPM).
