Volvo: starting, left hand side, volvos

on starting my v40 2000i i get a clicking sound
from the behind the left hand side dashbound.
car running alright and no warning lights

Paul,
Take the car to a shop that works on Volvos and let them listen to that noise. If it was not there before and is loud enough to easily hear then you need to get to someone that will be able to hear that noise and tell you what it is. This is the first time that I have heard of any nosie such noise as the one you have.
