is it possible to get a block heater for the s80 2.9l non turbo   
and how do you fit

The dealer is the best place to get that block heater. I do not know the price of it. The one that I believe they will offer is one that goes in the lower radiator hose and is not to hard to install. If you have trouble finding one e-mail me back and I will try to help.
