Volvo: 240 Oil Cap Leak, oil filler cap, leak oil

Hi Jason - I have a 1988 240DL and it continues to leak oil past the oil filler cap.  Ihave replaced the gasket twice but after a month or so oil will begin to escape and run onto the manifold and make a big mess.  Any ideas?  Thanks

It seems logical to assume that despite your gasket replacements, you're still not getting a good seal.  I would suggest checking the tightness of the cap when screwed on, and whether or not there is any radial play when tightened.  Check to see if the metal arms extending from the cap aren't bend toward the center, disallowing a tight seal.  Good luck!
