Volvo: Scheduled service of late model 240dl, maintenance records, transmission service
QuestionI am looking to purchase a 90-93 240 dl sedan and am curious about the scheduled service. What should I be looking for around 100,000 miles in terms of repairs, service, etc.? I have seen prices ranging from $3,000 - 10,000 dollars so I'm a little curious about the vehicle since I have never owned one. Any thoughts or suggestions/advice is appreciated.
thanks
AnswerHello Rory! At 100,000 miles the timing belt should be replaced along with a transmission service and and oil change. A tune up is due every 30,000 and the timing belt should be replaced every 50,000. It is best to have the car checked out by a qualified Volvo technician before you buy. Also, get all the maintenance records that are available. I hope this info helps.
