My oil gauge show low but when I check the oil, it is on the full level.

Most oil gauges work off of a pressure switch, and if it is showing low oil pressure, this is an indication of bad or worn bearings, or a bad oil pump to name a few parts that can cause this.

If your Ford has a low oil level gauge, then it could be a bad sending unit, or gauge itself.
