It would be cheaper, and less trouble to trade it in on a 4x4.  It would take a major rebuild on the front end.  A large expense would be converting the transmission to accept a transfer case, not including the cost of the transfer case itself.  This is if you can find the front differential, and all the components in a wrecking yard.  This is not taking into account the labor costs if you can't do the conversion yourself.

As far as the actual costs go, I would buy some 4x4 magazines, and contact some of the companies that supply components to see what it would take to do a conversion of this type.
