4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 4WD S-15 JIMMY, vehicle manufacturers, 4wd

I JUST PURCHASED A S-15 4WD AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY ENGAGE THE 4WD. IT HAS ROCKER TYPE SWITCH TO SWITCH FROM 4H TO 4L. THE VEHICLE IS A 93 S15 JIMMY WITH A 4.3 V6 WITH A AUTO WITH OD TRANSMISSION

I would suggest that you find a user's manual for the S-15.  All vehicle manufacturers have a specified method for shifting into, and out of 4-Wheel drive, especially low range.

Each model, or make of vehicle can have a method unique to that model.  Most require that you slow down to 3 mph or slower, slip the transmission into neutral in order to shift into low range.

If you don't have a user's manual, contact your dealer, and see if they can provide you with one.
