4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: careers, guidance counciler, diesel mechanic

Hi my name is Kevin and I am a middle school student in Michigan. We are researching careers in my class. I think I might be a diesel mechanic some day. Could you answer the following questions? What classes would you suggest I take in high school? What type of activities do you suggest I get involved in while I'm in high school? I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks Kevin for the interesting question.  Since I am in Florida I am not familiar with the career choices available in Michigan school system.  I would imagine there is an office with the name of guidance counciler or something like that in your school.  If not I would go to your local Community College and talk to an advisor there.  If you do not have any luck get back to me and I will see what I can do to help.  You might also check with one of the diesel manufacturers ie: Detroit Diesel, Ford, General Motors, and ask them what they would like to see a professional and well qualified diesel technician( mechanic is too severely limiting) to have.  Best of Luck, Bud
