4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: SUVs, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Question
I am planning on getting a new SUV and would like your opinion on the following:

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2WD
Huundai Santa Fe
Ford Explorer 2WD
Chev. Blazer

They are so expensive that I want to be sure I get the most for my money.  

Any help you can give me would be most appreciated.  Buying a new car is such a chore.....

This answer is an observation rather than a scientific answer.  The Ford Explorer has been the largest selling SUV for many years, has a good maintenance record and good resale.  The Trail Blazer is also well respected, but, in my opinion rides much rougher than the others.  The Jeep is a venerable vehicle with a good reputation and resale but does not have the best warranty record.  The Hyundai is still very new.  They sell a lot of them due to low price and excellent warranty but seem to have a lot of mechanical problems and less than average resale value.  In the end this decision will have to be made by you.  I urge you to go to the web sites of each vehicle and perhaps even to an all purpose website that does comparisons such as edmunds.com.  In any event I wish you the best of luck.  Bud
