Suzuki: tracker engine, iridium plugs, synthetic lubricants

I'm the recent owner of a '93 tracker with 75k on it.  i love the car and plan to keep it forever.  what maintenance schedule did you follow to keep yours running so long? are there any particular maintenance items i should keep an eye on?

Change the oil every 3k max, or with the change of the season.
Do the rest of maintenance at least as often as the factory reccomends.
Use synthetic lubricants.
Change gear and trans oils evey 50k max (I do it annually)
Use the best parts available, platinum or iridium plugs, etc.
in short over maintain it.
