Suzuki: Can I install AC in samurai, wet thumb, salvage yard
QuestionI recently bought a 1989 Samurai that has no AC - meaning none was ever fitted by the factory. Is it it possible to install an AC unit now. If so, how complex is it? Should I have a proffesional do it? How much would it cost (ballpark)?
AnswerYes, it's possible, there were Samis with A/C. If you're an accomplished, patient and talented amateur, you could do it. If you could get it out of a vehicle at a salvage yard, yes, I mean take it out yourself you would then understand what to do to install. Do it yourself, probably less than a thousand, have a pro do it, probably 750 labor plus the kit (that's a wet thumb in the air kind of estimate) Note, if you think the Samurai is slow now, wait till it has A/C.
