will a 5 speed transmission from a 4x4 2000 model tracker work in 1998 suzuki sidekick jx 4x4 ? thanks wayne

Do they both have the same basic engine?  If not, getting the trans to mate up to the engine without adapter plates could be an issue.  Go to "izook", the Suzuki website, and see what you can find out there.  Unfortunately, my area of expertise and knowlege is Samurai.
