Tips on Buying Cars: Buying A used SUV in Florida, vacationing in florida, late model

Hello:

I will be vacationing in Florida in January for about 6 weeks....
I am seriously considering buying a used late model SUV when we arrive in Florida and bringing it back to Canada..

I don't think that I will have to pay tax in Florida ???...I believe that I can obtain a temporary permit to drive it home....However I wonder if I stay 5-6 weeks if the permit will last that long....
Is there anything else that I will have to do.

Appreciate any suggestions..

Your correct, you will not pay taxes here, pre arrange with the dealer about your temporary tag, they will issue you a temp tag good for 30 days, then they can issue a second tag good for another 30 days, some dealers will put you on a dealer tag which is good for a year but you would have to return it before leaving.
