QuestionI live in Long Beach, CA and I'm interested in buying a 2004 Honda Accord EX 2door Coupe. I found one from a private seller in LA and he's selling it for $7900. He purchased it from an auction. It has a V6 engine, 55000 miles, silver with black leather seats in mint condition. The only thing is that it has a salvage title. The back area was replaced and repainted but you can't even tell because the paint doesn't look cheap and dull. I had my friend (who knows about Honda/Acura) inspect it and he said that it's a good car but it's not worth $7900 because it's salvage title and we have to do all the paperwork and pay the extra fees like getting the license plates (it doesn't have plates), CHP & brakeline inspections, smog check, registration, and taxes. I just want to know how much is it really worth, is $7900 is a great deal?
AnswerHi Michelle
Happy New Year, sorry for the delayed answer, short vacation.
Personally, the word " salvage " would make me stay away no matter how good the deal, to get a better understanding about titled salvage vehicle's navigate to this link on my website http://www.usedcartips.org/AUCTIONS.html and scroll down to ,,, should I buy a salvage.
After reading up, should you still be considering this vehicle then provide a link, and I will look into this deal further for red flags.
