Tips on Buying Cars: used compact suv, nasty winter, luxury options

I'm a nurse and can't afford to be late on nasty winter mornings.  I'd like a reliable, fuel efficient, AWD vehicle.  My husband is a Lexus fan.  I don't want the expense of a larger used car loan.  I'm interested in a 2005 something or other.  Please help me choose something that won't make him say I told you so.

Thanks for your question.  If your husband is a Lexus fan, then I would try a Toyota.  Maybe a Rav4, Highlander, or 4Runner.  All of those will hold their value, and perform just as well as their Lexus counterparts.  You just won't have some of the luxury options.
