QuestionI am interested in purchasing a 2006 Honda Pilot at a very good price. It has very high mileage at 91000, though. If the vehicle has been well taken care of should I consider this purchase? Also, if I do purchase, should I invest in an extended warranty?
AnswerFirst, I'm sorry about the time it took to reply, but I've had some computer problems that took about a week to resolve. As for the Honda Fit, the key to this vehicle is maintenance. If the owner has all the records for oil changes, tune-ups, repairs, etc..., and everything has been done in a timely manner, then I would have no problem in considering this vehicle. The only way one can put 91,000 miles on a 3 year-old vehicle is through constant interstate/ freeway driving, and that's the easiest type of driving there is. Every mile on the interstate wears on the tires, and virtually nothing else. Think about it: you're not applying the brakes, shifting through gears, opening and closing doors, dragging on and off the upholstery, etc... But I would have an independent mechanic check it out, just to be safe.
