Tires: Tire age, tire name, best guess

Can you tell what decade this tire was made in?  It's a Goodyear S4S,and the numbers are:  DOT M6UL H1HR 499

Is there an arrowhead near the date code 499?  An arrowhead will look like this <|  If so, then the tire was produced in 1999.  

If not, then the date code is no help.  And the tire name is only of some help.  I remember Goodyear S4S's as being fairly recent, and not from the 1980's or earlier.  

So best guess is 1999.
