QuestionHOW MANY YEARS TIRES ARE GOOD FROM MANUFACTURE DATE ? FOR HOW MANY YEARS THEY GOOD FOR ?
AnswerDear Sikander,
Thank you for using AllExperts.
Currently, no law exists nationally that regulates the maximum age of any tire, although this is a subject that has been debated widely. Several tire manufacturer's have initiated policies that tires should be replaced upon reaching 10 years of service:
Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental, Cooper Tire.
Multiple auto manufacturer's in recent years have included in their owner's manuals that the original equipment tires should be replaced at six years:
Chrysler
Toyota
BMW
VW
Mercedes
Audi
...and several others.
Many tire manufacturers and some car manufacturers remain silent on the issue, or defer to the Rubber Manufacturers Assn. policy (below).
Here is the statement of the Rubber Manufacturers Association #Trade Organization of the major tire maker's) on tire service life:

As there is NO CONSENSUS on this issue between all the tire makers, or all the car makers, I cannot give you a definitive answer unless your vehicle owner's manual gives you specific advice.
