Is there a radial replacement size for a 6.00-16 bias ply tire? Can the original rims be used?

You need to be very careful here.  There are a couple of different types of tires that might be labeled "6.00-16".

That says there is nothing equivalent in a modern tire size.

But if you don't have a vintage passenger car, post back with the type of vehicle and more of what the tire says on the sidewall about load and pressure.
