Do you know whether there are any manufacturing defects known to early 2000's (2001-2003) Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires that would lead to a sidewall blowout?  I have a picture of a tire that shows a sidewall gash/blowout.  I am trying to determine if that is evidence of a sidewall blowout and if such a blowout can be traced to a manufacturing defect.

99% of tire blowouts are caused by road hazards - and certainly a tire that is 6 to 8 years old would have failed long before now if the problem was manufacturing related.

But without the photo I can't tell you for sure if that is true in your case.  

Can you post the photo on some website so it can be accessed?
