QuestionI need to put new tires on my '07 Honda Civic, and I am considering the Michelin HydroEdge because of its 90,000 mile warranty. I have read a few reviews on this tire and it appears to work well for most passenger cars.
I know these are primarily designed to resist hydroplaning, and they have limitations when rotating. However, I am having a hard time deciding if a directional tire would be worth it, given the warranty.
Also, I have found these at a price that is comparable to other non-directional tires (which don't come close to having the same warranty on tire tread life) that I have been looking at.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
AnswerBrian,
I am not a fan of directional tires, because I think it creates confusion about the mounting and rotation.
On the other hand, I don't think this is a good reason NOT to buy a directional tire if all the other properties are what you want in a tire.
