QuestionHi, I have a 1997 ford explorer. I need to change the rear tires.
Since it's about to go, I don't want to buy new ones.
I am having a hard time locating used P255 70R16, what can size can I replace these? The front tires are still good. Can the front and the rear have different sizes. Thanks!
AnswerCory,
P255/70R16's are one of the most tire sizes for pickup and SUV's. If you are having trouble locating tires, then there must be some other problem - perhaps it is because new tires are so inexpensive due to the popularity.
But a P245/75R16 is almost the same, but not as popular.
And, it is not a good idea to put different tire sizes on front to rear, because in emergency maneuvers, the car will have lost the balance between the front and rear.
