Tires: DOT numbers, combonation, dot numbers
QuestionHi Brett
This might sound like a dumb question, but here goes anyway.
How do you read the DOT code
AnswerJim,
Actually this is a frequently asked question. Located after the letters DOT there are a series of number and/or letters that will providee you with the following data:
The 1st 2 letters, numbers or combonation of indicates WHO and Where the tire is built.
The next 2 letters, numbers or combonation of indicates the SIZE of the tire.
The next letters, numbers or combonation of indicates the BRAND of the tire.
The next 3 or 4 numbers indicate the WEEK and YEAR the the tire was built ( 3 numbers for the 90's and 4 numbers for 00's )
I hope this is helpful
