Tires: LT tires on an SUV, LT tires

Hi Barry,

I am looking to replace the tires on my 2007 Pontiac Torrent (AWD) with some LT tires.  I have not had much luck finding any tires online.  The tire specs I currently have are "P235 65 R 16".  Are there no LT tires for me in this range?

I am not a fan of replacing "P" tires with "LT" tires - and apparently I am not alone!.  Aside from not seeing the point of this change, "LT" tires need 15 psi more pressure to carry the same load - and that is going to really hurt the ride.

But to answer your question directly, I don't think you will find anything that is suitable - even in a different size.

So unless you are willing to do some alterations to your vehicle, you should try to find a "P" tire that meets your needs.
