Tires: 2004 Avalon XLS Tires Spin on Accelration, michelin mxv4, avalon xls

The original Michelin MXV4 Plus 205/65/16 tires have been spinning on rapid accleration (like pulling onto a street with a slight blind hill) since they were new. Comfort and a quiet ride is important, but so is that traction issue. Should I expect that from all brands of tires in that class?

This is tough to answer, because it is quite possibly a function of either your driving style or a peculiarity of the vehicle's suspension.

But as a general rule, replacement market tires have better traction than OE tires.  So when you replace the tires, be careful to avoid tires that are supplied as OE.
