QuestionWe have a 2005 Suzuki Aerio SX with 13000 KM on it It has pulled to the right since new. The dealer has done an alignment on the rear end as there was a recall. They just did Another one and said everything is within specs. They even tried rotating the tires. It still pulls to the right, Any suggestions?
AnswerRichard,
I suggest that the problem is alignment - unless the only time the vehicle pulls is under acceleration. In that case, the problem is that it is a FWD and the problem is called torque steer and there is no fixing it.
If that is not the case, then:
1) "In Spec" isn't good enough. The alignment should be within 50% of the tolerance. Put another way, alignment specs are way too wide - by half.
2) Non adjustability of the alignment is no excuse. You can always slot holes or put in eccentric bolts.
But just to be sure it is alignment, take the front 2 tires and swap them side to side.
1) If the pull changes direction - it's the tires.
2) If the pull doesn't change - it's alignment.
3) If the pull goes away - it's both!
