Tires: tires, size tire, car tire

Hello!

    First off, I just wanted to say that I think its real cool that you do this!  Now, for my question....I recently purchased a vehicle with the following tire size..235 55 17.  I was shocked to find out how expensive this tire is! I'd say the average price  is $200.00 per tire, even at Walmart!  Why is this size tire so expensive?  If anything, I would have expected it to be a very cheap tire ($50.00/tire) due to the fact that it's so small!

This tire isn't particularly small - at least by car tire standards.  I think you also have to consider that the tires probably have high speed ratings which means there is more stuff in the tire to allow it to go faster.  I think $50 a tire is way too low.  This would be close to a "cheap tire" considering how big it really is.  Remember, the tire is about 11" wide!
