Tires: tire upsizing, 265 70 16 tires, tire size

Hello,my question is concerning tires on my 95 explorer.I would like to put 265/70/16 tires on it.Right now there are 255/70/16 on it,could i go to the bigger size and what would be the limit on this vehicle.The trucks original tires are the 255/70/16.

The general recommendation is to use the same size as originally specified for your vehicle.  In your case this is a good recommendation.

Going up in tire size generally means going up in diameter as well.  This increases the tendency of a vehicle to rollover - and we all know about the reputation of Explorers.
