Tires: p225-60-r16 tire, mercury grand marquis, uniroyal laredo

I have a '97 Mercury Grand Marquis, currently with p225-60-r16 Michelin tire.  Can any tire labeled p225-60-r16 be used as replacement tires?

I've seen Firestone Wilderness, Uniroyal Laredo and Tiger Paws that come in p225-60-r16 but they are used for SUV's, wondering whether tires that are intended for SUV in the same size will fit passenger tires, and should I expect noisier and less responsive handling from these tires.

While there is some variation between tires, a P225/60R16 ought to fit regardless of who makes it.

I would think that any tire designated as suitable for SUV's is likely to be noisier than tires specifically designated for passenger cars.  But that, of course, may vary quite a bit because the issue is much more complicated than that.
