Tires: tire/rim, steel rim, salvage yards

i have a 99 toyots sienna van with a out of round steel...rim causing a vibration.....must have hit pothole.


junk yard steel rim 25 to 45  vs new dealer 125 ....is the junk yard rim worth the risk?

Usually what i do is when someone ask me about stuff like that who are trying to save money which i don't blame them,I once bought rims from a junkyard dealer for a very good offer and the rims was in good condition.I would suggest looking at the rim you are wanting to buy and and take it to a tire shop that can do a spin balance that way it will show any defects in the rim .Most salvage yards will sale as is and no warranty so be careful who you deal with on that,It is really hard to say if it's a risk or not if they allow you to take to get it checked out first or give them a blank check till you come back for it if you choose not to take it.
