1. Gather your tools and materials.
You will need:
* Jack and jack stands
* Lug wrench
* Phillips-head screwdriver
* Flat-head screwdriver
* New tires
* Tire pressure gauge
2. Park your car in a safe location.
Park your car on a flat, level surface away from traffic. Set the parking brake and chock the wheels.
3. Jack up your car.
Use the jack to lift the rear of your car until the affected tires are off the ground. Make sure to place the jack under the frame of the car, not the axle.
4. Place the jack stands.
Place the jack stands under the car on either side of the jack, again making sure that they are under the frame of the car and not the axle. Lower the car until the jack stands are firmly in place.
5. Loosen the lug nuts.
Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the affected wheels. Make sure to turn the lug wrench counterclockwise. Do not remove the lug nuts completely.
6. Deflate the tires.
Use the screwdriver to remove the valve stem caps from the affected wheels. Then use the flat-head screwdriver to press the valve stems down to release the air.
7. Remove the lug nuts.
Use the lug wrench to remove the lug nuts from the affected wheels.
8. Pull off the old tires.
Grab the old tire by the sidewall and pull it straight towards you to remove it from the wheel.
9. Install the new tires.
Place the new tire on the wheel and make sure that the rim is seated properly in the tire bead.
10. Replace the lug nuts.
Hand-tighten the lug nuts, then tighten them in a crisscross pattern using the lug wrench. Do not over-tighten the lug nuts.
11. Inflate the tires.
Insert the air hose into the valve stem of the new tire. Inflate it to the recommended pressure, which you can find on the sidewall of the tire.
12. Lower the car.
Remove the jack stands, and then use the jack to lower the car.
13. Replace the valve stem caps.
Replace the valve stem caps on the affected wheels.
