Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Brakelight requirement, stop, lamp

"I live in Minnesota and I know that a headlight and tailight are both required but am wondering if a brakelight is required or if the hand signal for "stop" is sufficient?"

Answer
A red taillight with a stop lamp is required in Minnesota, so no, the hand signal is not sufficient.

You do NOT want to put yourself into Minnesota traffic without a stop lamp. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!

Does anybody know what the hand signal for stop even looks like any more? I doubt most people would figure it out ... until it's too late.
