QuestionI seen that this question was asked back in April. Need to know if the law has changed. Is there a certain location and way(Vertical or horizontal)the license plate has to be mounted on a Motorcycle? I have had a Few friends pulled over for have there plate horizontal.
AnswerThe law did change in Minnesota as of August 1. I am unaware of what the law would be where you live.
In general, best bet is to mount the plate as it would come off the showroom floor: horizontal, facing straight backwards, underneath the taillight, with a white light illuminating it. You can fudge a little so long as it's readable, but make sure it's solidly mounted and well-lit.
Having it mounted vertically, or under the tailsection, or at an angle or not secure (swinging, hinged etc.) will probably attract the attention of law enforcement.
