Used Cars: jaguar, vanden plas, independent inspection

looking at buying a 1986 Jaguar 4 dr vanden plas. The guy said it had a loose valve in the engine and the fuel pump needs replaced. Hes selling it for 600 so i figured i could make a huge profit because its in very good shape. would the engine need rebuilt because of the loose valve? Need some opinions thanks so much!

To answer your Q, I would pay over $2000. for an 86 Jag if it passed an independent inspection,,, therefore please don't commit to a price before you have a mechanic of you choice checking out the vehicle.

Sure $600. sound great, but what good is it if it's going to cost mega to make it run well ?
