Used Cars: 96 Honda Civic 189K, honda civic ex, honda civic

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 96 honda civic ex with 189K for $4000 flat out the door.  It's in California where it is so hard to find something in that price range but I know you were looking to buy something like that in an earlier post.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it, but I just wanted an opinion of someone who has a similar experience.  Thanks!

I am a huge honda fan, and mileage does not worry me with one thing in mind....how well has it been maintained?  On a car that old, it is hard to really know but I would definetly get a reputable mechanics opinion.  And if I were buying it I would have the timing belt/water pump replaced and flush all the fluids.  When you get to that type of mileage you just can not over maintain the car, and I would want to know where I am at on maintenance, so I would just do it.  Because it is hard to find, it may be worth that kind of money, but it sure seems high, for around here anyway.  Good luck and I hope it makes you a good car.
