QuestionQUESTION: hey there--i have a 96 celica GT liftback, 125K, bought used 2 years ago---really love the car...have an 87 porsche 944 turbo as well...my sister just bought a new accord, so she offered me hr 02 honda civic (EX i believe, standard shift), 45K, for only 6500; i bought it, thinking i'd either keep it and sell the celica, or sell it a make perhaps 3-4k; i know the honda is much newer, much less mileage, but it's 4 door, and i actually like the way the celica rides better; is keeping the honda really a no brainer, in terms of making a smart decision?
ANSWER: Well you are in a win win situation, so lucky for you, the smart decisions have already been made. I mean those are 3 pretty cool cars to have, each in their own way. I think if you decided to sell the honda or the celica, it would not be hard to do, and I think you could get max money on either one of them, there is a strong market for both of those cars most of the time. I think your decision needs to be based on which you want or need, and go with it. I just dont see how you can make a wrong decision in your situation. Good job and good luck.

QUESTION: but one car is 6 yrs younger and 45k, the other 125k...isn't the prudent decision to keep the honda?
AnswerWell kinda....If you are a family man with kids, the honda would be the better choice. Just gauging from the cars you own, a family car is not top of your priorities. It sounds like you like the Celica quite a bit better than the 4 door honda. And in regards to Toyotas, miles to much concern me personally. I have owned a Honda with 282k on it, and drove my family in it all the time. I always tell people the price of the car does not matter, if you dont like the vehicle. You can keep the car you like, and make a quick couple grand off of the civic. Just sounds like a good situation to be in, in my own opinion of course.
