Trucking: Towing a truck, fifth wheel hitches, state highway patrol
QuestionI need to transport two International F8200's 2000 miles. Can I tow one of them with the other using an a-frame? Any website info on rig a-frame towing or Heavy Duty A-frame manufacturers?
AnswerHi Stephen, I suggest you contact a truck dealer on this question. I am assuming these are tractors: The only safe way to tow is: provided one has a fifth wheel, then there is a hitch that fastens to the front axle of the other truck and fastens in the fifth wheel. I have personally towed one from sc to PA with this type hitch and it works great. A dealer or truck rental company may rent you one of these fifth wheel hitches. An A frame would not work. A wreck would have to pick up the tractor with the hitch mounted on the axle. If these are trucks, check with U haul company for advice. Hope this will help.
