Trucking: truck inspection stations, real reason, inspection stations

It seems that the CA state-run truck inspection stations are closed more than they are open. Why?

Hi Terry,  I do not know why they are closed more. I would not complain if you are a driver.  I may assume that it may be due to the poor financial condition that CA is in now.
I am in SC and do not know the real reason . You may contact someone with the CA Highway Department for a better answer.   J P Long.
