Truck Repair: 93 chevy k1500 oilpressure, chevy k1500, oil pressure

Question
My ? is what is the normal oil pressure range for my truck it has
a 305 motor. Mine fluxuates from almost 30 down to last bar
right before in the red. It goes up when i excellerate & down
when i stop at a light. What do you think? normal?

Answer
oil pressure minimum allowable at low idle is 10 psi or 80 kpa.
At acceleration up to rated speed, minimum allowable is between 35 to 55 psi.
Oil gauges with graduated numbers will show you what obtains with your engine. However color coded gauges must stay in the green zone during running to be safe.
