Truck Repair: Cummins, compression release, firing order
QuestionHi Cliff
Thank you so much for all of your valuable advice!! I am a mechanic.. Does anyone offer Cummins Tech. manuals on CD's?
On running the overhead, could you make it more clear for me. I am working on a old compression release N series 855 with Pressure Timed fuel system. The injectors plunger & spring come up above the injector cup. I need a more thorough explanation on running the overhead. When turning the accessory drive to C , does it matter where Top dead center was? Can you just start anywhere as long as you just start with C? Then you do the injector first & then the one valve? Then rotate to whatever is next A or B? I am sorry, for sounding ignorant, but it has been a while, and I can not remember.. I have all of the right tools, except service manuals. Is their any other forums on the web for mechanics? Thank you for your time.
