Vintage Cars: 1978 280CE, 280ce, performance issue

Hi Ron,
I have to replace the exhaust on my 280CE and I have the opportunity to obtain a decent used exhaust from a W123 300D, Apart from the fitting problems we may run into, are you aware of any performance issue that may arise from fitting a diesle exhaust to a gas engine.

Ahh the 78 CE was a nightmare, it had three CATs ,Air pump, EGR, I beleive.  I dont think youy will have an issue other than fit.  Many have eliminated the CATS and went with manifold, baffle( resinator) , muffler exhaust set up.  If you are in a state you may not pass emisions inspections, something you may want to consider. Or you could add a CAT in the mix.
