Vintage Cars: locating a vehicle with the VIN #, car fax, local court

Is it possible to locate a vehicle with the VIN#?
if so Where?
How?
How Much?
There is a car That I traded many years ago and I know it is
a long shot but I want to try to find it.
if possible?

yes it is, you can try private sources like car fax and search engines like

Also you could go to your local court house and ask them to search , they may or may not be able to give you the info
