Questionlooking at a car to buy, have one in mind, however, some things are noted like the top is worn-needs replaced, the wiring is noticably worn, the rear end case leaks at joint, small trans oil leak but the most disturbing this to me is that the steering wheel is one inch out of square with the dash???? I can't tell if this is normal or an adjustment problem or worse??note the car is a nice looking vehicle for a driver and its age!
Answerwell without seeing it , Id say you are looking at lot of $$ to repair, just the leaks can run upwards to $1000 if yiu cannot do the work yourself. The top is 600$ providing the mechanism works. The steering wheel - may be a sign of an old collision , could be worse.
We have not even discussed the engine, although they are pretty bomb proof
I have a 72 that is pristene, I would no tbe afraind to take it across the country, but then again I put a lot of time and effort into the car , I would not part with it for less than 20K, that said good examples , good repair - can be found for 5-8K
I would say keep looking
how many miles ? Service history available ?? that would help me help you
Good Luck
