Vintage Cars: VIN, corvette forums, corvette owners

Hello Jeff:

I have a photo of a car from my family's past that shows the license plate number. It is a mid 60's California plate number TBM 749 on a Corvette. Any way of determining the VIN?

Since all you have is the plate number to go on, you need to contact the CA motor-vehicle department and see if they can find anything in their records.  If they can't help, then you should do a Google or Yahoo! search for something like "Corvette forums."  You need to find a site devoted to and sponsored by Corvette owners with a forum; you could then ask your question there.  There's not much else you can do with such limited information.
