Vintage Cars: 1969 Cutlass, 1969 cutlass, convenience feature
QuestionWhat or how can I tell the difference between a 1969 Cutlass Sport, S and Supreme? I cannot find this info anywhere on the internet. Please help.
AnswerI don't recall a Cutlass "Sport" for 1969, but that may have been the same thing as the "S" model. There was the basic F-85 (real plain-jane, price-leader model), the mid-line "S," and the top-line Supreme. The biggest difference between the "S" and the Supreme was the interior: much plusher on the Supreme, and it had a bit more chrome on the outside. Other than that, there wasn't much difference (nearly identical engine/ transmission/ convenience-feature options). Starting in 1970, the 2-door Supreme adopted a totally different, formal roofline, as where the "S" kept the fastback design.
