Vintage Cars: older vin numbers, ford truck enthusiasts, vin numbers

I bought a 1979 F100 Custom Ford Truck. The vin number is 11 characters, the vin sites want 17. Where can I look up my trucks vin ?

Try asking this question on the forums section of Ford Truck Enthusiasts (www.ford-trucks.com).  I personally know of no search engine that uses the older 11-digit VIN, but those guys at FTE know EVERYTHING about Ford trucks, so that's the best place to start.
